COFF Harbour flicks the switch on solar energy

Posted 13 October 2010, 07: 52: 00 home Coffs Harbour International Gallery and library has turned to the city's first solar-powered public building.

Around 650 panels have been installed on the roof Rigby in Parliament.

They will produce about 30 percent of the power required to run the building's heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting.

Coffs Mayor Keith Rhoades says solar panels will save the Council more than $ 30,000 per year in direct electricity costs.

' What pleases me really is that they are in addition to the official zap of the parameter, will be a permanent display on the project's solar energy,» he said.

"It will generate approximately 175 megawatt hours per year, these are all savings for our environment.

Councillor Rhoades says $ 808,500 solar energy project will help cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Hopefully, he says, it will set an example for the community to follow.

"This would be something, I feel our community members can come and look at, they can see it.

"A lot of our community members have taken on board the benefits of solar energy now."

-But just think of what these school children can gain from this, to be able to pop in and behold, he said.

A transformerless (non-isolated) version will follow that it must be used in accordance with the provisions of the various regions of the world. Programmable output voltage levels to three from 208 VAC to 240 VAC, the new inverter has a maximum efficiency of 96 percent, meet the California Energy Commission (CEC) weighted efficiency of 95.3 percent and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) efficiency greater than 99.5 percent.

ANY-5.0 is with a lifting weight in just 38.5 pounds (17.5 kg), one of the smallest and lightest residential solar inverters available today. Combined with a number of other features – including a grid utility wiring box, digital controls and LCD display-inverter is easy and quick to install and service, and it requires less space on your Web site setup. reliability and performance is optimized by means of independent multi-string solar (PV) inputs (two of 15 A), with independent MPPT.This feature provides a very flexible solar system configuration can accommodate varying installations and optimized energy harvesting from multiple strings or arrays.

ANY-5.0 inverter can measure and record real-time and historical energy data from a connected PV array and wirelessly send this information to Emerson, upcoming Solar Monitor EEM1.0 with touch-screen color display, which can be located conveniently in the home or Office. LCD screen displays important real-time operational parameters and the screen can be customized by the Setup program or user.
